Congratulations to everyone who participated in the 2009 Avon Race for Research held on Sunday 25 October.  The event was another outstanding success, attracting 3,000 people and raising a remarkable $78,000! 

 

Funds raised will support the national breast cancer research programs of the Australian New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group for the cure and prevention of breast cancer.

 

We would like to congratulate the winner of the Newcastle Permanent Sponsorship Challenge who raised $4,881 in sponsorships and went on to raise a further $2,122 at a community fundraising event she hosted.  For her efforts she received a $500 Rapid Saver Account with the Newcastle Permanent Building Society.  Second place raised $2,149 and received a $300 Rapid Saver Account, and third place raised $1,371 and received a $200 Rapid Saver Account.
